What a UAE business signs, and needs to prove
A company in the UAE handles a steady flow of documents that need a valid signature at home and a dated record of ownership that travels. UAE Pass answers the first part well. The gap is the second part, because a signature confirms approval, it does not by itself prove who created a work or when.

Where signing alone stops short
Signing and proving are different jobs

When the record is only a signed file with no dated proof, the cost lands in three places:
- A signed document shows approval, but proving the work existed on a given date and was not altered afterwards falls back on server logs, metadata and testimony, which is slow and contestable.
- A local signature does not automatically carry weight in another country, so a claim of ownership abroad can rest on evidence a foreign court has no obligation to recognise.
- Without a clear proof of authorship, an investor, a partner or a court is left weighing your word against theirs, and that is a weak position to be in.
A qualified timestamp under eIDAS Art. 41 carries a legal presumption of the time and integrity of the data. Paired with copyright recognition under the Berne Convention , that presumption travels to the countries where a dispute is decided.

How does copyright proof reach beyond the UAE?
The UAE is a member of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, which is administered by WIPO and has more than 180 member countries. Members recognise each other's copyright without separate registration in every country. A sealed, timestamped record of a work supports a claim of authorship in any of those countries.
What legal weight does the timestamp carry?
