في نوفمبر 2024، سلّمت وكالة إبداعية مقرها جنيف نظام هوية بصرية من 60 صفحة لشركة ناشئة في مجال التكنولوجيا المالية. شملت المواد المسلّمة ملفات الشعار ومكتبة كاملة لمكونات واجهة المستخدم ودليل تصميم الحركة. كان العقد قد اتُّفق عليه شفهياً، مع إرسال نسخة مكتوبة لكنها لم تُوقَّع مطلقاً من الطرفين. بعد ستة أسابيع من التسليم، بدأ مدير التصميم المُعيَّن حديثاً في الشركة الناشئة بتقديم العمل على أنه من تطوير داخلي. لم تضع الوكالة أي طابع زمني على أي مستند. كان لدى الفريق القانوني للشركة الناشئة سؤال واحد: أثبتوا أنكم أنجزتم العمل أولاً. لم تستطع الوكالة ذلك. كلّف النزاع الناتج عن الملكية الفكرية الوكالة 340,000 فرنك سويسري في رسوم قانونية وثلاثة أشهر من وقت الإدارة، مقابل عمل فُوتر في الأصل بـ 45,000 فرنك سويسري.
