A unique cryptographic hash is calculated from the file's exact binary contents. Your file is never stored or transmitted, only the fingerprint.

Qualified timestamp issued

Swisscom Trust Services, a ZertES-accredited and eIDAS-qualified QTSP, anchors the hash to a certified point in time.

Receive your certificate

A PAdES-compliant certificate is issued: hash, timestamp, issuer chain, and your identity. Self-contained proof of creation.

Legal Framework

Every seal is backed by two independent legal frameworks, Swiss and EU, via Swisscom Trust Services.

eIDAS Art. 41

Qualified electronic timestamps carry a legal presumption: the time is accurate and the data is unchanged. The challenger must disprove it.

ZertES Art. 2

Same legal presumption under Swiss law. Admissible in Swiss courts and proceedings without further authentication.

Berne Convention Art. 5

Copyright exists at creation. No registration needed. A qualified timestamp proves when that creation occurred.

What file formats can be sealed for copyright?

Any digital file up to 500 MB. Documents, video, audio, images, source code, archives, CAD and BIM files, and any other binary file. The seal operates on the SHA-256 hash of the file, so format is irrelevant.

Does sealing a file prove I own the copyright?

A seal proves that a specific file existed in its exact form at a specific certified time. Under the Berne Convention, copyright attaches at creation, and the seal provides the evidence of when that creation occurred. It does not assert originality, but it establishes your prior art with the strongest available evidentiary standard.

Is my file uploaded or stored when I seal it?

No. Only the SHA-256 hash of the file is processed. Your file never leaves your device and is never stored on Swiss Trust Layer servers. The hash alone is submitted to Swisscom Trust Services for timestamping.

What is the file size limit?

500 MB per seal. For larger files, compress or export at the highest quality that fits the limit, or seal at the project archive level. The hash uniquely identifies whatever file is submitted.

How is this different from a DocuSign or Adobe Sign signature?

DocuSign and Adobe Sign are designed for signing documents, primarily PDFs, in a workflow context. Swiss Trust Layer seals any digital file with a cryptographic timestamp that proves what existed and when, independent of any signing workflow. It is proof of creation, not a signing service.
